About The "Ambling Amp" Video With Cobra Den Invitationals :
"Cobra Den Invitationals: Our favorite people. In our favorite places. Reinterpreting our favorite things." The Cobras also made the viral Phoenix/Rooftop video that was featured just about everywhere and Lawrence Lessig, Harvard professor darling of remix and copyright counter culture, just showed their work lecture at Harvard that's making the rounds. Wakey!Wakey! is the first of the video series. Yeasayer's "Ambling Alp" was stuck in our heads all winter and we got to wondering how violins could replace synths. Enter Brooklyn's beautifu Wakey!Wakey! and the beginning of a series. They've also collaborated with the Pitchfork Tunnelvision videographers.

Watch Michael Grubbs Interview On The Set Of One Tree Hill Click Here To View Wakey!Wakey! In TV Guide Filter Magazine (April 2010): "Pleasing Pop Record" Venus Zine (3/4 Stars): With strong theatrical elements coating the music, the album as a whole provides a soundtrack to something - be it a puppet rock opera, a primetime soap opera, or a tumultuous relationship." Under The Radar Magazine: "Wakey!Wakey! rockets through lush layers with breathtaking ease."
MTVNews.com Blog: "In a word: Wow. Ear to ear smiles. Seriously good stuff. Trust me." Joel Crane (NME): "Mike Grubbs could speak for each and every one of us when he pulls at our heartstrings with tales of lost love and broken spirits. But he's more than just another poetic, tortured soul. Grubbs' combines some beautifully played piano with a voice so striking it resonates around the room galvanising everybody within earshot - both painful and beautiful in equal measure."
Spin.com : "Driven by a stern piano bounce - courtesy of frontman Mike Grubbs - indie-pop-on-Mozart quintet Wakey!Wakey! are quickly becoming the talk of the Big Apple with rhythm-heavy, heartfelt ballads, and - most notably - Grubbs' striking Top 40 pipes. With an audience that ranges easily from wet-eyed punk rockers to stay-at-home moms, Wakey!Wakey! merge old and new, downcast classical renderings and indie rock pop-smarts - and formulate a dynamic sound all their own." Pop Headwound: "His voice is like a smoke alarm in the dead of night: huge, dominant, unable to be ignored, mabye even life-saving."
