About Us
Downtown Harvest is a fresh new breed of rock n’roll we like to call “comic-book punk rock.” Drawing inspiration from a variety of musical influences, their music blends groove-laden funk elements with big beat rock, with traces of hip-hop infused keyboard hysteria trailing in its wake.

The band was conceived in 2002 when former high school classmates Bobby Cahill (bass, guitar) and Larry Thomas Moore (vocals, guitar, bass) ran into each other on the R6 train platform at Temple University. The rest was history as drummer/vocalist Christopher Wood and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Frank Ewing entered the mix. The group took up residency in their hometown of Lafayette Hill, PA and played exclusive shows at the historical General Lafayette Inn. After the boys graduated college, they decided a focused commitment was needed if the band was to prevail.

The four moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to explore new territory and hone their skills as Downtown Harvest. After an extensive writing period, they recorded their self-entitled debut LP at Concrete Park Studios in Glendale, CA. The album sparked interest with producers and musicians alike as the band toured California. As 2005 drew to a close, the band moved back home to share their creation with fans, friends, and family.

Since their return, Downtown Harvest has played over 150 shows and has established themselves as one of Philadelphia\'s great original bands. Their single \"Hurry Before Worry\" was part of Jaxon\'s 93.3 WMMR Local Shots series and received airplay throughout the region. The group has won national accolades as well, most recently winning Ralph Lauren’s RalphRocks battle of the bands contest.

Downtown Harvest’s second LP \"Golden Dragon\" was born in July 2007. Recorded at Milkboy Studios (Ardmore, PA) and mixed by Allen Farmelo (Brooklyn, NY), the band describes their new release as “more persuasive and inventive than the first album, with a taste of red curry spice that touches upon the foundations of rock, grunge, dance, hip hop and drum and bass.\" Inspired by their favorite hometown Chinese restaurant, the CD itself is quite the novelty with its linear notes reading entirely like an ethnic Chinese cuisine menu.
