Hello children, for the last ten years I've been kicking around all over this country singing songs, hollering hymns, confessing kindness, covering crimes, breaking hearts, bruising egos, strumming guitars, banging on two-bit pianas, howling at the moon, hiding from the sun, chasing rainbows, jumping in rivers, climbing up mountains, drinking myself under the table, riding on buses, riding in vans, riding in cars, riding in R.V.s, missing airplanes, catching trains, telling lies, telling truths that everybody thought were lies, making shit up, free loading, breathing smoke, doing magic tricks, leaving, arriving, leaving again, breaking up, falling in love, reading books, riding bicycles, spending money, stirring the pot, going with the flow, rocking the boat, following the rules, kicking habits, jumping ship, signing up, dropping out, giving in, giving up, growing up, getting my ass kicked, helping out, not doing a god-damned-thing, seeing sunsets, sunrises, east coasts, west coasts, gulf coasts, restless farewells and dubious hellos, and a lot of other shit too. And I never learn a thing. But sometimes I'll write a song or two.
