TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD is an original band from Denver, Colorado. Born in the summer of 1996, this quintet has been a long-standing staple on the Western front-range and is known for their dynamic live performances, as well as their catchy, hooky songs. The songs and lyrics are described as "never felt so good to feel so bad." The group brings a unique style to your ears and mind; the tunes range from rock (Cashed) to powerpop (The Honeymoon) to country rock (Sometimes I Think). The songs are driven by the energy and madness of the Birds - as original as the music they produce.
The band's debut album UFO was produced by engineer Bill Thomas and the band. UFO also features bass tracks by Rob Squires of Big Head Todd & the Monsters. Alien-American, the second album was produced by Eric Shiveley and the band in 2004. Tequila Mockingbird is currently laying down tracks for their third full-length release, which is expected to be out by Spring of 2009.
Highlights for the band include opening for Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, Bob Schneider, Sean & Tom (from the Samples) and being nominated as one of Denver's top-5 bands in 2002 (Post-News Battle of the Bands). |
